Limitations: coverage is uneven. Bars that issue electronic receipts in the neighbourhoods with the most recorded sales show up more; street botecos, vendors and beach kiosks still have few prices. In Salvador, 38% of the 78 bars with prices are in three neighbourhoods: Pituba, Rio Vermelho and Caminho das Árvores. On the suggested price list for the circuits at Carnival 2026 (Correio and A Tarde, 29 January 2026), Brahma Chopp, the festival's sponsor, cost R$ 13 for two cans and from R$ 8 for one; other beers cost R$ 8 to R$ 10 a can. The carnival page has the bars near each circuit and the same can's price in supermarkets.

### How often are the prices updated?

Receipts are read about three times an hour, and the site is republished several times a day, whenever the data changes. Every price shows when it was last checked; at bars it leaves the ranking after 180 days without a new check, at shops after 14.

### Do bars pay to appear or to rank higher?

No. The ranking is always by price per litre and is not for sale. Bars can sponsor a spot, always labelled "Sponsored", which never changes the order of prices.

### Does Cerveja Barata sell beer?

No. It is an independent, free price map at cervejabarata.com.br: it doesn't sell drinks or take orders, and it has nothing to do with cervejabarata.com.
